Regarding app control, regulatory body BTRC said that it is not possible to block or control apps due to technical limitations. As a result, this is how gambling continues online. Apart from this, new gambling sites with new names are coming to the online world every day. They are being blocked manually. Because of this, online gambling cannot be completely freed.
Recently, it has been reported that the rate of gambling on mobile phones has increased. Especially in the saloons of the capital and Mofswal cities, the trend of gambling has increased. This gambling is done in the saloons near bus stand number 11 and half in Mirpur of the capital, especially during cricket matches.

When asked about this, Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar said, 'I have been telling everyone all the time - if you send the link of the gambling site to me or those concerned, it will be blocked. I have asked BTRC concerned to block gambling site or pornographic site or link and take my approval. I will approve. There is no exemption in this regard.'

On July 11 this year, the High Court ordered to block all websites where gambling advertisements are visible including news portals, social media, television. Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission or BTRC has been instructed.
