Sri Lanka's bad record in the tour of South Africa

The Sri Lankan cricket team is in a bad state when visiting South Africa. Sri Lanka set a shy record of 42 runs in the first of the two-match Test series.

This is the team's lowest score in the history of Test cricket. Earlier in 1994 against Pakistan in Kandy, hosts Sri Lanka were bowled out for 71 runs.

The first Test of the series started on Wednesday in Durban, South Africa. Sri Lanka won the toss and sent South Africa to bat first.

Batting first, South Africa were bowled out for 191 runs in the face of the pace of Asitha Fernando and Lahiru Kumara. Captain Timba Bavuma scored the maximum 70 runs for the team. Besides, Keshav Maharaj scored the second highest 24 runs.

In response, Sri Lanka was all out for 42 runs in just 13.5 overs after losing wickets one after another in the face of Marku Jensen's pace.
