Germany is giving a loan of 18.8 million euros or about 2 thousand 265 million rupees to Bangladesh for various projects.

An agreement was signed between the government and Germany on Thursday. Economic Relations Department (ERD) Secretary Shahriar Quader Siddiqui and German Ambassador to Dhaka Eckhim Troster signed the agreement on behalf of their respective countries.

This information has been informed in a notification sent by ERD.

According to the circular, out of the total loan, the cost of renewable energy and energy efficiency project will be 5 crore euros. Apart from this, 95.55 million euros for Sustainable Urban Development project, 500 million euros for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVED) project, 12.2 million euros for Socially and Environmentally Sound Supply Chains, Trade and Infrastructure projects, 60 lakhs for Production of Biodiversity project. Euros will be spent. Apart from this, 7 million Euros will be spent on the project related to the prevention of abuse of children and women in domestic work.
