On November 27, Erdogan spoke at a ceremony organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for the country's calligraphers, small artists, silk carpet weavers and other traditional artisans.
He said that globalization has basically caused cultural degradation. Be it in the name of money or in the name of ideology. Uniformity leads to cultural sterility and polarization.
Erdogan believes that Westerners are inserting their own culture into other cultures in the name of globalization. As a result, Westerners are carrying out global cultural aggression.
Erdogan said, the people of our country have many ideas about European, American, and Eastern music. But they do not know the names of many composers of the country. This happened due to lack of proper policy formulation.
He said, when I see that young people know K-pop very well. But they are not familiar with (Turkish artists) Cem Karaka, Bari Manko, Knesset Ertas, Kayahan and many other artists of this country. Then we are very anxious and sad.
