Besides, Gazipur Mahanagar Youth Dal member secretary Mahmud Hasan Raju along with 60 BNP Jamaat leaders have been acquitted from this case.

 

Judge Rehena Akhter of Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-1 of Gazipur gave this order on Thursday.


According to court sources, Syed Abul Hashem, then SI of Joydevpur police station, filed the case on February 21, 2015, alleging sabotage and throwing petrol bombs on the bus. Tariq Rahman was accused in the charge sheet even though he was not named in the statement of the case. 8 witnesses testified in this case. After a long 10-year hearing, the judge announced the verdict on Thursday.


It is said in the charge sheet of the case - during the nationwide blockade, 50-60 activists of the BNP-Jamaat camp threw petrol bombs on a passenger bus in front of Kuliarchar Garments signboard under the then Joydevpur police station with the intention of sabotage. The bus caught fire.
