International desk: South Korea's snowfall broke the record. For the first time in 117 years, the country's capital Seoul has seen the most snowfall in November. Reuters reported that four people have already died due to excessive winter.
Some parts of Seoul received more than 40 centimeters (16 inches) of snow by 8 a.m. local time on Thursday.
It is reported that more than 140 flights to Seoul have already been canceled due to the heavy and record snowfall. Ferries and trains have been suspended. In addition to Seoul, the provincial authorities also ordered the closure of schools in Gyeonggi province on Thursday.
One person was killed and two others were injured at a Seoul golf range Wednesday after snow fell on them, local South Korean media reported. Another person died after a protective tent collapsed in the car park.
In addition, at least two more people were killed in a road accident on the highway in the eastern part of the capital due to heavy snowfall, according to the media. Eleven people were injured in a 53-car collision on a highway in the central city of Wonju in Gangwon Province on Wednesday evening, police said.
