begunkodar
Although trains ply through here, not a single train has stopped for 42 years. Actually this railway station is located in Purulia district of West Bengal, named Begunkodar railway station. This railway station was opened in 1960. Santal Rani Smt. Lochankumari made a special contribution to start this station.
A few years after this railway station was opened, things went well, but then strange things began to happen. In 1967, a railway employee claimed to have seen a female ghost here. He informs his colleagues about this but they all ignore him and dismiss him as rumour.
But a few days after this incident, a major incident forced everyone to believe the employee's story. In fact a few days later the station master of Begunkodar and his family were found dead in the railway quarters. Locals continue to claim that a female ghost is behind this incident. Then this horrible incident spread to the public.
Locals claim that whenever a train passes over this station after sunset, this female ghost starts running with the train. Not only that, sometimes he ran faster than the train. Many times he was also seen dancing on train trucks. After such incidents, this railway station is called haunted. The fear of this station was so widespread that people stopped coming here.
As a result no railway employee wanted to come to work there. Even trains did not stop here as passengers stopped moving from this station. It is known that the loco pilots also increased the speed of the train when they came near this station, as a result of which people also closed all the doors and windows in fear.

The image of the station remained the same for almost 42 years but in 2009 the station was reopened on the request of the villagers. Since then there have been no further claimed sightings or ghostly activity. But even today people don't go there after evening at this station. Currently around 10 trains stop at this station. Sometimes tourists also rush to see this ghostly station.
