Jumbangla Desk: In Chandpur's Faridganj, a complaint has been raised about the death of a mother due to a piece of wood on her son's hand. The incident took place in Chardukhia (East) Union of the upazila on Thursday (November 28) evening. The name of the deceased woman is Kauchara Begum (60). She is the wife of Maulana Abu Zafar of Santoshpur Kutti Bhuiyan Bari.

After the incident, the accused son Faiz is being detained by the police. Family members said that Faiz is suffering from mental illness.

Locals said that mother Kauchara Begum was standing in the yard of the house. At that time, his son Faiz took a piece of wood and hit his mother. He screamed and fell on the ground. The people of the house came forward after hearing the scream. On hearing the news from them, two other boys also ran. When they took the injured woman to the upazila health complex, the doctor on duty declared her dead .

Maulana Abu Zafar, the husband of deceased Kauchara Begum, said that Faiz had been suffering from mental illness for about 11 years. He is undergoing treatment. He hit his mother and entered the house and locked the door from inside. Later, the police came to the house and arrested him and took him into police custody.
