The incident took place at Gopalpur Bazar area of ​​Gopalpur Union of Begumganj Upazila around 12:30 PM on Friday.

The arrested are Md. Tarek Hossain (18) son of Shaukat Ali of the same upazila, Md. Shakib (24) son of Abdul Khalek of Doalia village of Ward No. 8 of the same union and Bahar Uddin (29) son of Abdul Haque of Mahbulyapur village of Gopalpur union.

According to local sources, Hasan was released from jail 4-5 days ago. After that, he threatened to occupy the Gopalpur bus stand and market with a status on Facebook. Around 12:30 noon today, the outsiders carried out a motorcycle exercise with weapons in the Gopalpur market area. At that time they created panic by firing blank bullets. At one point the locals pelted them with stones and beat them up and handed them over to the police along with a locally made LG and one round of cartridges. One of the detainees was seriously injured in the attack by the locals.


Main Uddin, president candidate of Gopalpur Union Youth Dal, said, "I fell face to face with Hasan in front of Gopalpur Government Primary School when he was practicing in Gopalpur Bazar with his motorcycle. At that time they shot at me. Earlier Gopalpur Union Chhatra Dal General Secretary Mohsin threatened to kill him by sticking a weapon in his waist. Later local people beat them and handed them over to the police along with their weapons. Hasan is involved in Jubo League politics.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Begumganj police station Md Liton Dewan said that the police immediately went to the spot after receiving the information. At that time, the locals handed over three people to the police along with one LG and one round of cartridges. Among those detained, Bahar was seriously injured.
