Nazrul Islam Khan, a member of the National Standing Committee of BNP, has called for unity among all the political organizations in the country fighting against the fascism regime.

He said this in his speech as the chief guest at the 43rd founding anniversary of the Bangladesh Khilafat movement and 'What we should do against fascism and its minions' at the National Press Club in the capital on Friday.
Nazrul Islam Khan said, those who fought against fascism in Bangladesh should unite. Fascism cannot be defeated without a united effort. We have a responsibility to restore democracy in the country. The blood of those who gave their lives for democracy cannot be dishonored.
He also said that our main responsibility in restoring democracy is to organize fair elections. The Awami League government seized power by force and staged a farce in the name of elections. Now the responsibility of the interim government is to arrange fair elections. Where public opinion will be accurately reflected.
Regarding the restoration of democracy, Nazrul Islam Khan said, from the language movement of 1952 to the anti-dictatorship movement of 1990, the people of the country have given a lot of blood. But even after independence we have witnessed one-party rule, military dictatorship and killing of democracy. Today's rulers have also made democracy meaningless in that sequence.
