The US President said these things in a statement on Thursday (November 28). News from AFP.
"The Russian attack is highly reprehensible and is another memorable example of the need and importance of our support for the people of Ukraine and ensuring their defense against Russian aggression," Biden said.
On Thursday, Russia attacked Ukraine with about 200 missiles and drones. Biden called the attack a provocation attack. One million people were left without electricity as a result of the attack.
"My message today to the people of Ukraine is clear that the United States is and will be with you," Biden said.
Trump is widely believed to change policy toward Ukraine, which has provided nearly $60 billion in aid to Ukraine's military since February 2022 when Russia launched a full-scale invasion.
Trump has promised to end the Russia-Ukraine war quickly with a cease-fire agreement. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will mediate between Russian President Vladimir Putin.
But his critics have warned that the incoming Republican president is likely to use US military aid to pressure Ukraine into agreeing to a deal that would require it to permanently cede the territory it occupies or a deal not to join NATO.
Trump on Wednesday named retired Gen. Keith Kellogg, who wrote in an essay this year that U.S. military aid should be used to force peace talks, as his Ukraine adviser.
