The mosque has 9 donation boxes. Which are usually opened every three months. This time it opened after 3 months and 14 days. In addition to 9 donation boxes, two trunks have been added this time.

The donation boxes were opened at around 7 am on Saturday in the presence of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Fauzia Khan and Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury under the supervision of Additional District Magistrate and Convenor of Don Box Opening Committee Mizabe Rahmat.

At this time Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rubel Mahmud, Additional District Magistrate Mizabe Rahmat, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Mohammad Nahid Hasan Khan, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer UNO Md. Ershad Mia, Negarat Deputy Collector (NDC) Roshan Kabir and others were present.

Now counting is going on. The amount of money will be known after the calculation. DC Fauzia Khan confirmed the matter and said that 9 donation boxes and two trunks were opened in the presence of the mosque management committee members around 7 am.

Superintendent of Police Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury said that the donation boxes of Pagla Mosque were opened under strict security. Policemen will be engaged in security until the money is counted and delivered to the bank.


In addition to the district administration staff, there are 285 madrasa students, 50 bank employees, 34 members of the mosque committee and 10 members of the law and order force.

After opening the donation boxes, eager crowds gather around the mosque to watch the counting.

Earlier, on the morning of August 17, nine donation boxes of the mosque were opened and 28 sacks of Tk were found. At the end of the calculation at that time, the amount of money was 7 crore 22 lakh 13 thousand 46. Foreign currency and gold jewelery were also found.

Many people regularly donate various kinds of things including ducks, chickens, cows, goats to the mosque.

The Pagla mosque was built on about 10 percent of the land on the banks of Narsunda river in Harua area of ​​the district town. After the expansion, the land area covered by the mosque is now three acres and 88 percent.
