Jumbangla Desk: Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said, not only adults fought against fascism, everyone fought together. We have to maintain this national unity. Everyone should be alert so that no one can enter through any gap and destroy the unity.
He said these things in a street meeting at Chanchra check post junction in Jessore city on Friday night.
Shafiqur Rahman said, Jamaat-e-Islami was the most oppressed party during the fallen Awami League government. But even after the revolution, we did not burst into joy. I ordered everyone to be calm. Leaders and workers at all levels of the party are following the instructions. There was no complaint against any activist from any part of the country.
He also said that we will not forgive those who spread the grip of fascism on us, ran rampant for 15 and a half years, killed, disappeared and looted. Each of them must be tried for their crimes.
Bringing up the issue of banning Jamaat, the Amir of the party said that Awami League had banned Jamaat from power. Later, Jamaat and Chhatra Shibir wanted to be eliminated from the country. Those who wanted to ban us, the Creator has practically banned them in this land. We have no credit for it. All credit to creator.
