Jumbangla Desk: 29 sacks of Tk have been found from the donation box of Kishoreganj's historic Pagla Mosque. After counting for four hours, 6 crore rupees have been found so far. Counting is still going on.
This money was found after counting till 12:30 noon on Saturday (November 30). Rupali Bank Kishoreganj Branch Assistant General Manager (AGM) Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter.
Pagla Mosque Committee President, Kishoreganj District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner Fauzia Khan, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md. The donation chests were opened in the presence of Rubel Mahmud, senior officers of the army, officials in charge of the administration and the police. A record 29 sacks of rupees have been found from 10 donation boxes and a tank of Pagla Mosque. Later, counting of the money started on the second floor of the mosque complex.
Kishoreganj Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rubel Mahmud, Rupali Bank Assistant General Manager (AGM) Rafiqul Islam, 133 students of the Madrasa, 150 students of the traditional Jamia Emdadia Madrasa and 80 officials of the bank participated in counting the money. Apart from this, 10 members of the mosque committee and 20 members of the law and order force have participated.
Deputy Commissioner of Kishoreganj Fauzia Khan said, it is difficult to pray in the open area of the mosque in the sun and rain. Apart from this, the project of constructing a beautiful Islamic complex and mosque of international standard has been undertaken by purchasing some adjacent lands.
Before this, 10 donation boxes of Pagla Mosque were opened last on August 17. Then 7 crore 22 lakh 13 thousand 46 taka was received in three months and 26 days. Besides, a large amount of foreign currency and gold ornaments were found in the donation box.

Many people from different districts regularly donate ducks, chickens, cows and goats to the mosque.
The Pagla mosque was built on about 10 percent of the land on the banks of the Narsunda river in Harua area of the district town. After expansion, the amount of land covered by the mosque stands at three acres and 88 percent.
