After the fall of the Awami League government, the interim government suspended the law. At the time of approving the ordinance, the Cabinet Division informed, 'There has been a strong public perception of widespread corruption and mismanagement in the power sector of Bangladesh nationally and internationally regarding the execution of power generation contracts under Section-6 of the Rapid Increase in Supply of Electricity and Energy (Special Provisions) Act, 2010. done.'
