According to NASA, on November 23, a spacecraft named 'Progress 90' docked with the Russia section of the International Space Station. Astronauts of the Russian space agency Roscosmos detected the smell shortly after opening the doors of the spacecraft and took quick protective measures. In addition to this incident, the Node 3 module in the US part of the International Space Station also smelled like paint spray.


NASA said in a statement that the International Space Station was being monitored by sensors after air scrubbers and debris cleaning on the morning of November 23. Now the air quality inside the station is at normal level. As a defense, the connecting hatches of the Russian modular and cargo craft are kept closed.

Incidentally, the Progress 90 spacecraft is carrying three tons of food and fuel for the astronauts of the 'Expedition 72' mission to the International Space Station.
