However, it is said that the meeting in Gwartumi, India, was over in just '20 minutes'.
Cricket-based website Cricbuzz reported that none of the parties could come to a decision in the virtual board meeting. The 'hybrid model' was rejected by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ahead of the meeting. Also, the PCB asked the ICC to suggest viable alternatives to the hybrid model.
According to Cricbuzz, the ICC meeting was attended by members of 12 full member countries and three associate countries. Another source said the (subsequent) meeting may last for more than 24 hours. The concerned authorities are working hard to stop the chaos with the champion trophy. This meeting can be held again tomorrow Saturday or in a few days.
Another cricket-based website, ESPN Cricinfo, reported that the ICC meeting called on Friday lasted less than 15 minutes.
It has been initially decided that PCB, BCCI and ICC officials will sit with some other board members and try to reach an acceptable decision. That solution would have to be approved by the governments of both India and Pakistan.
