International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor Karim Khan said there was no legal basis to suspend the arrest warrants issued against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Galant.

In a document recently published on the ICC website, Karim Khan called on the Hague-based Court's Appeals Chamber to reject Israel's appeal.
He insisted Israel's request did not meet the legal requirements required by ICC rules.
He also noted that Israel's challenge is not a matter of 'admissibility', which is a key condition for such appeals. Rather, it involves procedural complaints regarding investigations.
Explanation of procedures under the Treaty of Rome
Karim Khan explained at the time that Israel could not raise a 'jurisdictional challenge' until the ICC had yet made a decision under Article 58 of the Rome Statute. But it may be possible in future if conditions are met.
Charges against Netanyahu and Gallant
Last week, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Galant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Prosecutor Karim Khan's statement indicated that it would be difficult for Israel to cancel or suspend the warrant. This will deepen the legal and moral conflict between Israel and the international community. Source: Meher News Agency
