Ireland won the toss and elected to bat first at the home of cricket in Mirpur. Despite losing two openers for 35 runs, the team's wicketkeeper Amy Hunter played an innings of 68 runs. Orla Prendergast (37) and Laura Delaney (33) played three centuries.

However, the Irish had to stop before two hundred in the controlled bowling of Sultana-Swarnad. The team reached 193 runs in 6 overs in 50 overs.

Sultana Khatun took maximum two wickets for Bangladesh. Swarna Akhtar and Nahida Akhtar got one wicket each.

Chasing 194 runs, Bangladesh lost opener Murshida Khatun (6) in the beginning. However, the other opener Farzana Haque's fifty (50) and Sharmin Supta (43) and skipper Nigar Sultana Jyoti's (40) timely two innings easily reached the target of victory.

In the end, Swarna anchored Bangladesh to victory by scoring an unbeaten 29 runs off 29 balls. This is now Bangladesh's highest run-chase win in ODIs.

Laura Delaney took the maximum two wickets for the Irish.

The two teams will meet in the last ODI of the series on December 2. Nigar Sultana Jyoti's team will enter the field with the aim of whitewashing the Irish in that match.
