All in all, the Kiwis are definitely on the losing end of the Christchurch Test, if not the dramatics. On the same day, Kane Williamson had to burn for a thousand touches.

Williamson was dismissed for a personal 61 off Chris Woakes in the second innings en route to the 9,000 Test run milestone. He had the opportunity to touch the milestone of 1000 fours in his Test career. But that did not happen today. He had to stop at 999 runs. However, he will surely touch it in the next test.

So even if you don't regret it too much, the Kiwis are waiting for the loss. Because, from the beginning of the second innings, the Kiwis lost wickets at regular intervals. Two openers Devon Conway and Tom Latham returned within 23 runs. Then Kane Williamson and Rachin Ravindra made a pair of 41 runs.

When Ravindra was out for 24 individual runs, Williamson formed a partnership with Mitchell. 69 runs came from this pair. At one stage of the innings, New Zealand reached 133 runs for 3 wickets. However, the pair broke when Williamson was dismissed for a personal 61 off Chris Woakes. England took control of the match with another wicket in the next ball. Then at the end of the day, Glenn Phillips, who scored 58 runs in the first innings, was dismissed. Brydon Kars and Oakes took 3 wickets each.

Summary Score:

New Zealand 348 and 155/6 (Williamson 61, Mitchell 31; Woakes 3/39, Curse 3/22).

England: 499 (Brooke 171, Stokes 80; Henry 4/84, Smith 3/141).
