Abdullah died at the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute at around 6:15 am, said Shawon Bin Rahman, resident physician at the hospital's emergency department.

He said Abdullah (13) was undergoing treatment with 38 percent burns on his body. Abdullah's younger brother Mohammad (10) died on the night of December 1 while undergoing treatment with 35 percent burns. Their mother Ruma died on November 30 and father Khalil on November 26.

Another brother, Ismail, is undergoing treatment at the Burn Institute's intensive care unit with 20 percent burns on his body.


Doctor Shawon had previously said that the condition of Khalil's two children, Abdullah and Mohammad, was critical.

The other two victims from the family are Shahjahan (35) and his wife Swapna (25). Shahjahan suffered burns on 6 percent of his body and Swapna suffered burns on 14 percent of her body.

On November 24, around 5:30 am, a fire broke out in a house in C-Block, Section 11, Mirpur, in which seven people, including Khalil, his wife and three children, were burnt to death.
