Hazna Hasim said it is an open secret that there are a lot of illegal people living in Malaysia. Therefore, the Malaysian government is redesigning the foreign worker recalibration program considering the country’s national security interests and worker safety interests.

I believe that the illegal recruitment process will be stopped from now on. We are committed to making life better for employees in the future. But the governments of both the countries have to work on this issue. I hope that those who will go to Kuala Lumpur from Bangladesh will get a better environment.

The High Commissioner said, we are working on the matter at the moment, we have to give a little chance. A cooperative relationship exists between our two governments. I hope this situation will improve.

In response to a question about labor market syndicates, the High Commissioner said Bangladesh is not the only country from which Malaysia recruits workers. Malaysia recruits workers from 15 countries around the world.

We source the best quality staff from these countries. We may have syndicates here, which are beyond the control of both Bangladesh and Malaysia governments.

In the event, the High Commissioner spoke on various bilateral issues of the two countries. In particular, he highlighted the opportunities that the country has in trade, education, tourism and medical services.
