Shahrukh and I told this to Arjun at the party organized at Shah Rukh's house on the occasion of New Year. We decided that whoever plays Deepika's lover, he has to look good. That cannot be Prakash Raj. At that party we find Arjun. Shahrukh and I took him to the bathroom and closed the door and read the script. The script includes the burning of a girl. After hearing everything, Arjun says 'no'. Later Shahrukh Khan convinced Arjun.”

Shah Rukh Khan played the role of Om Makhija and Om Kapoor in the movie 'Om Shanti Om'. Deepika Padukone also plays a dual role. Arjun Rampal played the role of Mukesh Mehra i.e. Mike. The movie was released on November 9, 2007. This movie with a budget of Rs 40 crore earned Rs 152 crore at the box office.
