Ilyas Kanchan, Prince Mahmud on National Film Award Jury Board

Entertainment Desk: A 13-member 'jury board' has been formed to select the winners of the National Film Awards-2023. Along with Ilyas Kanchan, Prince Mahmud, Opie Karim also got place in the reconstituted board.

This information was informed in a notification of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Sunday (September 15) evening.

The Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Film Censor Board is the member secretary of the reconstituted jury board with the Additional Secretary (Films) of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting as the president.

There is also the director general of Bangladesh Film Archive and the head of the film division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Other members of the jury board are actor Elias Kanchan, filmmaker Zahidur Rahim Anjan, music director Prince Mahmud, cinematographer Barkat Hussain, actress Opi Karim, singer Nazmun Munira Nancy.

Dhaka University Television, Film and Photography Department president SM Imran Hossain and journalist Wahid Sujan are also there.

The mandate of the reconstituted jury board in the notification of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting states that the jury board will recommend the names of films, artistes and crews for the award after observing the films released in 2023.

Apart from this, the notification also mentioned that National Film Awards will be given in total 28 branches.
