Just being named in the case does not mean arrest: DMP Commissioner

Jumbangla Desk: Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). Mainul Hasan said that arrest will be made only if there is a name in the statement of the case - this is not the case. He said this during an exchange of views with the members of Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association Bangladesh (CRAB) at the DMP headquarters on Sunday (September 15) morning. Kamruzzaman Khan, President of Crime Reporters Association, General Secretary Sirajul Islam spoke in the meeting.

The DMP Commissioner said, those who are being sued will be investigated collectively and then action will be taken. Instructions have been given in that way. All cases will be investigated and action will be taken.

He also said, criminal events are never tamadi. Cases will also be filed in cases of police killings and looting of police stations.

The DMP commissioner said that all the police stations will return to normal operations within two weeks. Traffic has improved. Traffic police are now working till late night. It will improve gradually. Besides, the police will be more active in preventing robberies. Police patrol and check post activities have started.
