In the press conference, the president of the organization Amirul Haque Amin said, '800 people gave their lives in the movement to overthrow the dictatorship. 200 of them are garment workers. Therefore, I would like to refer to it as a student-labor mass uprising rather than just a student mass uprising.'

He said, "Since September 2, the workers in Ashulia, Gazipur, Tongi, Kaliakair, Chandra, Narsingdi and Narayanganj industrial areas have been protesting for various demands, including increase in wages, increase in attendance bonus, elimination of layoffs, gender discrimination in recruitment, non -punitive action against agitating workers. Movement. We have seen outsiders creating chaos in industrial areas in the name of labor movement.'


At this time, he presented their demands to the interim government. They are-

1. All the workers, including 8 members of the National Garment Workers Federation, should be immediately prosecuted and those responsible should be punished.

2. Adequate compensation and rehabilitation should be provided to the families of the slain workers.

3. Injured workers should be ensured necessary and superior treatment and compensation.

4. In the last wage movement, false cases filed in the name of workers including 43 cases filed in the name of 20,000 garment workers must be withdrawn immediately.

5. All factories must pay wages and salaries within seven working days.
