Today Monday (September 16) the workers joined the work in the open factory. However, on the occasion of Eid Miladunnabi holiday, many factories are closed according to the rules. Meanwhile, workers returned to two factories that were closed under Section 13/1. At this time, the workers demanded to open the factory quickly.
Sarwar Alam, Superintendent of Police, Industrial Area Police, said that many factories are open even on holidays. Many have closed. Law and order forces are trying to maintain law and order as usual. No disturbances were reported.
Incidentally, there has been dissatisfaction in the Ashulia industrial area for the past few days with the main demand that more male workers should be employed than female workers in garment factories. In this situation, Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has taken various initiatives in the past few days to resolve the workers' dissatisfaction.
Meetings were held with the factory owners, labor leaders and senior officials of the administration. Apart from this, a coordination meeting is also held with local political leaders.
