Sunita Ahuja got married to the legendary Bollywood actor Govinda when she was only 18 years old. This couple has been married for 37 years. Currently, they have two children in the family - daughter Tina and son Yashvardhan.

Govinda's wife recently appeared as a guest on a podcast. He reminisced about his first meeting with the actor's mother there.

Govinda-Sunita got married in 1987. Then the actor's wife was only 18 years old. Referring to that incident, Sunita said, 'I got married when I was 18 years old. We got married very young. Because his (Govinda's) mother was very old. Govinda is his mother's youngest child. Govinda's mother wanted to see the faces of her grandchildren by marrying her son.'

Govinda's wife, wore a skirt before her wedding, with fans enthralled by the look. But before the marriage, the future mother-in-law was wearing a saree when she first met her. That is why Govinda was angry at first. Later, however, he explained to his husband.

Describing that incident, Sunita said, “I used to wear mini skirts. But the day I first met Govinda's mother, I wore a saree for the first time. That's why my husband (Govinda) used to hate me. I told him, 'I am from Bandra (Mumbai), you are from Virar (Maharashtra). Movie heroines wear short clothes. But the wives of the house don't wear it. Hearing this, Govinda said - 'My mother has won.'

After dating for three years, Govinda-Sunita got married. After that he spent another 37 years under one roof. In all, their journey has completed 40 years.

In this regard, Sunita said, 'If Govind loves anyone other than his mother, it is me. Because I was with Govinda even before he became a megastar. I was by his side in bad times as well as in happy times. We must have a reason to be together for 40 years.'

Sunita feels that Govind is the best father, husband and son in personal life. His desire is to have a son like Govinda, who will be responsible towards his parents.
