Prophet Moha
There are different opinions about his date of birth according to the Arabic Hijri year. Some say that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was born on the 8th of Rabiul Awal. Most hadith scholars call it pure.
Among the biographers of the Prophet (PBUH), Ibn Ishaq is the foremost biographer. He said, the Prophet (PBUH) was born in the year 12 Rabiul Awal in the year of the elephant army incident. (Siraat Ibn Hisham, Volume-1, p. 158)
In the modern era treatise Ar Rahiqul Maktoum, it is mentioned, 'Sayyidul Mursalin was born on Monday morning 9 Rabiul Awal in the base of Bani Hashim in Makkah, the year of the incident of the elephant. That year marked the 40th anniversary of the reign of King Anu Shiro of Persia. (Ar Rahiqul Maktum, Volume-1, p. 45)
Mufti Muhammad Shafi'i (R.A.) the author of Ma'areful Qur'an in Tafsir mentions some other opinions about the date of birth of the Holy Prophet (S). He wrote, everyone agrees that the birth of the Prophet (PBUH) took place on Monday in the month of Rabiul Awal. But four narratives are popular in determining the date—2, 8, 10 and 12 Rabiul Awal. Among them, Hafiz Mughaltai (RA) accepted the 2nd narration and commented that the other narrations are weak. But the popular description is the 12th. This date is accepted in the book 'Tarikh Ibn Achir'.
Researcher Mahmud Pasha adopted the 9th date in the light of astronomy. This is a statement contrary to everyone's opinion and without sources. Since the places of Moon rise are different, so much faith and reliance is not instilled in the calculations that all can be contradicted based on them. (Mufti Muhammad Shafi: Sirat Khatamul Ambiya, Islamia Qutubkhana, Dhaka, 1996, page 17)
Although there is controversy over the date of birth of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), there is no disagreement about Monday as the day. Because biographers agree that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born on a Monday between the 8th and 12th of Rabiul Awal. This Monday is 8 or 9 or 12—that's the only difference in the calculation.
