The central coordinators could not hold this meeting due to the conflict between the two sides of the students. On Monday (September 16) around five in the afternoon, a scuffle took place between two parties at Satkhira District Shilpakala Academy Auditorium.
Nazmul Hossain Roni, one of the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement in Satkhira district, said that there was a meeting of local leaders and activists with the central coordinators including Wahiduzzaman, Akram Hossain Raj in Shilpakala Academy in the afternoon. Central convenor Akram Hossain Raj was speaking on the stage. At this time, two students named Johnny and Sunny are seen sitting in the auditorium and reading aloud. They even came on stage. Sunny announced to go out with Chhatra Dal leaders and activists in a while. Akram Hossain Raj finished his speech amidst all this commotion.
Another coordinator Imran Hossain said that the infiltrators of the Chhatra League are doing voluntary work. Chhatra Dal workers raised false slogans on such allegations. At this time, the meeting started rioting.
Meanwhile, District Chhatra Dal President Sheikh Sharifuzzaman Sajib said that there are no leaders and activists of Chhatra Dal named Johnny and Sunny. They are being identified as Chhatra Dal workers, it is conspiratorial. He also said that none of the Chhatra Dal leaders were present in today's meeting.
A student on the condition of anonymity said, except for a few members of Satkhira, a discussion meeting was held at the district commissioner's conference room this afternoon. As a result of this, a ruckus started in Shilpakala Academy. A group of students got up on the stage and began to say with the microphone, since the beginning of the agitation in Satkhira, those who are agitating from the front are being discriminated against. So the program will not be allowed. They were warned to stop the program and return to Dhaka. After that, the meeting broke up when they got into a ruckus with each other. Later, two groups of students got into a fight in front of the auditorium.
Rafiqul Islam, OC of Satkhira Sadar Police Station, said that the police and army members brought the situation under control at the spot. The situation is calm now.
