Monir Khan himself told the reason for not being able to sing for 15 years

Jumbangla Desk: I did not get any opportunity to sing in government institutions for 15 years. Some private channels have called me, but they are few and far between. Some of them may have called and asked why I am not receiving calls. Maybe because of their love or the request of my audience they gave me two shows each. But the official national institutions, like BTV, radio station, Shilpakala Academy, never called me.

Popular music artist Monir Khan said these things at the "Monir Khan Sandhya" cultural event in support of flood victims in Bangladesh at a five star hotel in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. In this event, Monir Khan helped the flood victims by singing for free.

Monir Khan also said, I have received National Award thrice. I got this honor through the love of the common people and the appreciation of the judges. As an ordinary citizen I have the right to receive a card or an invitation everywhere, on all occasions. But I have been deprived of that right for the last 15 years just because of different opinions ( BNP ). It is for this ideology that my voice is stifled, my musical feet are shackled. I kind of battled through a wall.

He said, I am healthy and well today because of the love of those who love me and support me through music. Monir Khan was proud to participate in the fundraising event to help the flood victims in organizing the expatriates and thanked everyone who helped.
