International Desk: India has condemned Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's comments about Indian Muslims as 'unacceptable'. In a statement on Monday (September 16), the Ministry of External Affairs of India condemned this. Indian media NDTV reported this news.

In a post on social media X on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), Khamenei compared himself to the plight of Muslims in Myanmar, Gaza and India.

In a statement, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said, "We strongly condemn the comments made by Iran's Supreme Leader regarding India's minorities." These comments are misleading and unacceptable.

It further states that other countries are advised to look into the situation of their own minorities first, then think about commenting on others.

Khamenei said in the post, "We cannot consider ourselves Muslims if we are indifferent to the suffering of Muslims in Myanmar, Gaza or India."

He also said that the enemies of Islam have always tried to make us indifferent to the single identity of our Islamic Ummah.

India condemned the comment, saying it was uninformed and an attempt to spread misinformation about India's internal affairs.
