The body was recovered from the Meghna River on the eastern side of Nimatoli area of ​​Hatiar on Tuesday (September 17) morning.


The deceased Md. He is the son of Abu Taher of New Sukhchar village of Jahazamara Union of Haksab Upazila. He went fishing in the sea as a fisherman in Rahim Majhi's trawler at Amtali Ghat.

The body was found on Tuesday morning when local fishermen were searching the river with a trawler in search of the missing fishermen. Later they recovered the body and brought it to Amtali Ghat.


Fishermen said that Rahim Majhi's trawler sank in the sea last Friday due to a storm. All the 16 sailors, including the killed Huksab, went missing.


Meanwhile, local fishermen rescued 10 people alive on Sunday morning. Earlier, another trawler rescued two others alive. Three people are still missing from Rahim Majhi's trawler.


In this regard, Rakibul Islam, in-charge of Nijhumdwip Naval Police Outpost, said, 'I have received news that the body of a fisherman has been recovered. A team of ours will go to the spot a little later.'
