Lifestyle Desk: It is raining throughout the day. Such a rainy day does not freeze without khichuri. Hilsa khichuri can be cooked in a simple way with great taste. Learn how to cook.

Ilish khichuri

In a cooking pan, add half teaspoon turmeric powder, chili powder to taste, quarter teaspoon coriander powder, quarter teaspoon cumin powder, half teaspoon ginger-garlic paste, green chili paste to taste, 1 teaspoon yellow mustard paste, 2 teaspoon onion. Add batter, chopped onion, salt to taste and mustard oil. Mix the masala well with your hands. Season with hilsa fish pieces. Knead it and leave it for 10 to 15 minutes.

Place the pan in the oven with little water. Cover with a few whole green chillies. When the oil floats and the fish is cooked, remove the fish from the masala. Add one and a half cups of drained rice to the spices in the pan, chopped onion, 1 teaspoon of ginger-garlic paste, half teaspoon of coriander powder, less than half teaspoon of cumin powder, chili powder to taste, salt to taste, half teaspoon of black pepper. Chilli powder, more than half a teaspoon of garam masala powder, bay leaves, cinnamon, white cardamom, black cardamom, mustard oil and green chilli flakes. Add 3 cups of boiling hot water for one and a half cups of rice. Cover the pan with a lid. When bubbles start to rise around the water, stir in half a cup of lentils and cover. When the water is absorbed, put the fish pieces on top and cover the pan on low flame. After ten minutes, remove the hilsa and shake the khichuri. The khichuri will not be lumpy, it will be neat. Shake and cover with a piece of hilsa. Serve hot.
