International Desk: Iran's supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made explosive comments about the minority Muslim community in India. He said, if they are indifferent to the plight they are in, they cannot consider themselves Muslims. However, his comment was not taken well by New Delhi. Even the Modi government has condemned Khamenei's comments.

Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei

According to NDTV, Khamenei compared the plight of Muslims in India to that of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. He made this comparison on Monday (September 16) on the holy Eid Miladunnabi day. However, New Delhi said his statement was unacceptable.

In a post on social media X on Monday, Khamenei said, "If we are indifferent to the plight of Muslims in Myanmar, Gaza, India or anywhere else, then we cannot consider ourselves Muslims." The enemies of Islam have always tried to make us indifferent to our collective identity as a Muslim Ummah.

In a statement after his exchange, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said, "We strongly condemn the comments made by Iran's supreme leader about the minorities in India." These are incorrect information and unacceptable. Countries that comment on minorities should look at their own actions before commenting on others.
