International Desk: Sheikh Hasina has fled to India from the country where the student uprising took place. India's relations with Bangladesh have been strained ever since its fall.

In addition to the local media, various international media are analyzing the relationship between the two countries. In such a situation, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said that they want to maintain stable relations with Bangladesh.

On Tuesday, S Jaishankar told the Indian media NDTV, 'What happens in Bangladesh is the country's internal matter. But we want to keep relations with Bangladesh stable. Neighbors depend on each other. We have good trade, good relations between our people. I want to keep the relationship between the two countries like this.'

Earlier, Jaishankar had said in the Indian Parliament last month that Sheikh Hasina had sought permission to come to Delhi at very short notice. Then in an all-party briefing, he said, the Indian government will give time to Hasina to decide on her next step.

Last week, the chief adviser to the interim government of Bangladesh, Nobel laureate Dr. Muhammad Yunus said his country also wants to maintain good relations with India as before, but those relations should be on the basis of 'fairness and equality'.

Besides, Dr. Sheikh Hasina. Yunus warned, 'If India wants to keep her (Hasina) until Bangladesh brings her back, there will be a condition - she has to keep quiet.'
