The incident took place on Monday (September 16) around 12:30 pm in Golpukur Par area of ​​the city. The deceased Saidul Islam was the joint general secretary of Mahanagar Jubo Dal. He is the son of Abdus Chalam, a resident of Golpukur Par area of ​​the city.

According to local sources, after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, Saidul Islam was accused of land grabbing, Balur Ghat occupation, extortion from local businessmen, display of weapons and other misdeeds. When several complaints were filed with the joint forces recently in these incidents, a team of the joint forces launched an operation to arrest Saidul Islam at around 10 pm on Monday. Saidul was arrested. Jubo Dal leader Saidul died on the spot due to brutal beating by members of joint forces. Later, when Saidul Islam was brought to Mymensingh Medical College (MMEC) hospital around 1.30 am, the doctor on duty declared him dead.


According to the staff in charge of the emergency department of the hospital, the members of the joint forces admitted 6 people with injuries at around 1 am. Later, the members of the joint forces took them with first aid.
