Jumbangla Desk: The government has given the power of Special Executive Magistrate to the Bangladesh Army across the country including the capital. Commissioned officers of the army have been given this power.

This decision was announced in a notification of the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday. This decision is effective from today. This decision will remain in force for the next two months (60 days).


When the clashes spread across the country including Dhaka around the quota reform movement, the then government deployed the army and imposed a curfew on the night of July 19.

After that, the Awami League government fell on August 5 in a student uprising. After three days on August 8, the Nobel Peace Prize winning economist. An interim government was formed under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus. In the current situation, the army is still deployed across the country.
