Jumbangla Desk: Students have locked various gates and administrative buildings of Chittagong University (CHB) demanding the appointment of a vice-chancellor. Today Tuesday evening, hanging the lock on the banner of ordinary students, they announced that there will be a 'complete shutdown' in Chittagong University until the notification of the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor is given.

At this time, a protest rally was held under the banner of ordinary students in the square of Shaheed Minar. The rally was chanted with slogans like 'No more ads, give notice', 'Everyone is in heaven, why Chabi is in the morgue', 'DU, Jabi gets VC, why Chabi goes backwards'.

After announcing the ultimatum for the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor, as the notification did not come, a 'complete shutdown' was announced in the Chittagong University campus from the students' assembly.

Earlier, at 10 am, the students protested at the zero point of the university with the same demand. However, the protestors said that this program has been announced as no results have been received throughout the day.

Student Niamat Ullah Farabi said, 'We are supposed to be on the reading table and in the classroom. But such a deadlock has been created that we are forced to abandon our studies and take to the streets. Those who are resorting to tactics in the appointment of Vice-Chancellors will not be exempted. They have to answer to the nation.

Student Habib Ullah Khaled said, 'We are announcing a complete shutdown of the campus until the announcement of the Vice-Chancellor. From now on, the administrative building and the main two gates of the university will remain closed. The Vice-Chancellor himself will come and open the lock and enter the campus. We will not allow this to continue.'
