Jumbangla Desk: An exchange meeting with representatives of foreign correspondent banks' Bangladesh offices was held today (September 17) at a hotel in the capital under the initiative of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC.

Chairman of the bank, Md. Obaid Ullah Al Masud, gave the speech as the chief guest.

Bank's Managing Director Muhammad Munirul Mawla chaired the event as a special guest. Chairman of the Bank's Executive Committee, Md. Abdul Jalil, Chairman of the Risk Management Committee, Prof. Dr. M Masud Rahman and independent director Mohammad Khurshid Wahab.

Additional Managing Director Md Omar Farooq Khan, Head of International Trade Wing Md Rafiqul Islam and Head of International Services Wing Mohammad Masood were present on the occasion. Senior executives of Bangladesh Office of Islami Bank and Foreign Correspondent Banks participated in the event.

Md. Obaid Ullah Al Masud said, Islami Bank is the bank of every people's heart in the country. Expatriates consider this bank as their own bank. They feel comfortable sending foreign remittances to their relatives through this bank. This bank, trusted by expatriates, has once again started running at its own pace.


He said, we are working to deliver the hard-earned money of expatriates to their relatives with highest priority. In this regard, the reputation of Islami Bank is well known.

The chairman of the bank also said that the relationship of remittance houses and foreign banks with Islami Bank will be strengthened and it will be possible to improve the services of expatriates through mutual cooperation.

He urged the representatives of banks and exchange houses to work with Islamic banks for the economic development of the country.
