He gave this information while talking to reporters after a meeting with German Ambassador Achim Troster at the Secretariat on Tuesday (September 17).
The advisor said that Germany will invest 1 billion euros in the country's renewable energy sector. 15 million euros will be available in the current financial year. The country will pay the total amount in 10 years.
This cooperation will also involve small ethnic minorities, women and youth, which will encourage a multi-stakeholder approach, he said, adding that international cooperation should be increased to address global climate challenges and the importance of sustainable forest management.
Expressing Germany's commitment to support Bangladesh in the fight against climate change, the ambassador said that the government's efforts to protect the environment are commendable. Germany has considerable expertise in renewable energy. Technical assistance will be provided to support Bangladesh's green energy initiatives.

In the meeting, both sides discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in river cleaning, environmental protection and climate change mitigation. Discussions included sustainable development projects, adoption of green technologies, and potential cooperation in addressing environment and climate-related challenges.
