How to Plan for Retirement: Steps to Financial Security

A big factor in retirement is financial well-being. In my opinion, having a proper, practical and affordable financial management plan is an important part of retirement planning. It will contain the cost sectors, as well as the sources of funding, in case of budget shortfalls in the plan, alternative sources should be explored.

Staying healthy in retirement is a big challenge. Diseases of the past, many of which were hidden, may come to the fore at this time. It is best to never ignore the disease. Since we can find extra time during retirement, we should allocate some time for health. This will save a lot of money and people will get rid of a lot of ailments.
Another important thing is to control ego and anger. Just as fire burns everything, anger also destroys our relationships, reputation, career success. Only the sufferers know how much unnecessary ego and anger have harmed us in our career. So why repeat those nuisances in retirement? Let's try to control anger even if we can't give it up. It will be good for everyone.
In working life, we move in a schedule all day. Morning to night was bound by a certain rule. This is a long-standing practice. So why come to retirement and go to a lazy life without a plan? Why morning-noon-night all alone in this life? In my opinion, education, employment and retirement will follow the same rules, only the tasks will be different.
As earlier I used to go to office at 8 am, now I will bring other work in my schedule at that time. For example, reading books, walking outside, shopping etc. can be done during that time. Of course, some of these may not be considered work. My opinion in this regard is that we need to change our traditional concept of 'work' by considering leisure time work. The point is, use your time properly instead of living a lazy life. It will improve both physical and mental health.
To make another point, many of us confuse holidays and retirement as the same thing. It may be that the terminology of these two is not clear to us. Just as we understand office days and holidays separately during work, holidays also come to us as 'temporary breaks' in a relatively less busy retirement life. I think, in this way, even in retirement, holidays can become enjoyable in new ways.
Many tasks of the past, which could not be done earlier due to lack of time, can now be looked at. He could not go to the village house for a long time. Come visit, you'll love it. Remember your old school or workplace, which has a 'happy' memory. Catch up with old friends or go out for a walk. Don't hold back, enjoy the journey to the fullest.
As you have experience, you can get involved in some social activities during this time. Whether it is unpaid! Time will be spent well, society will also benefit. Almost all of us believe in some religion or the other. Practicing religion gives us peace of mind, helps us to follow the right path.
In the past, the dharmakarma phase may not have been actively performed or done to the best of one's ability. Now that you have a lot of time on your hands, you can devote a lot of time to religious activities. Read religious books very carefully, find out the underlying meaning. Regularly visit places of worship, travel to religious events.
I believe, religious activities are an ongoing part of life. So it's not like you start religious activities at leisure. You can devote more time to it in your spare time.
Give plenty of time to family. Volunteer to take on many of the household chores. The small library of the family has not been organized for a long time! The garden is untidy, the book of collected coins and stamp collections is left unattended! Start today, now, not later. Get rid of old habits—'in a while, starting tomorrow'—from life forever.
I have seen many people suddenly become old after retirement. Full-faced, stubbly bearded, hunchbacked, wearing dirty clothes and walking slowly. Like a lot of 'I'm gone, how much more!' I say to you, to you, 'Get up, stand up, walk straight. You may still have a long way to go.'
Many can be heard saying again, 'What have I got in life! I suffered so much. So-and-so has been evading all his life, now he is fine. I could have done many more things like houses and cars...' etc. I strongly believe that what you have is yours. What you do not have or what you did not do, was not allotted to you. You have received your allotment. That's all you have to be thankful for.
I think it is better to avoid or forget some events or moments in life. For example, in the office where you used to work, where you were loved by everyone, your old colleagues are still working there. One day you may be passing in front of that office, wishing to see old colleagues. You may be disappointed thinking that they could not give you time due to busy schedule, many people may overlook. Because of this, there is no point in worrying, why take unnecessary pressure? Take stress only if it can solve a problem.
Plan your 'retirement' activities, thoughts, spending money, travel as much as you can cheerfully implement. Avoid making plans that require the help of others or that create extra stress. Keep in mind that you may not get the desired support for any reason.
Your body, health and mind are yours alone. Don't lose yourself by comparing the success or failure of others. Ground yourself in terms of reality and move forward with cheerfulness. It is always true that 'thinking and planning' must run in parallel, if success is to be achieved. Life will be peaceful and rhythmic. Then you will see that the path may have become smooth.
Look ahead! Abundant sparkling lights are waiting to color your life, the ever-sweet fragrance of blooming flowers to cheer your mind. Let everyone join in the new enthusiasm, new sense of life. But you have to make the beginning, so the poet said, 'If no one comes to hear your call, then walk alone.'
