Jumbangla Desk:  BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia has returned home after six days of treatment at the hospital.

He left Bashundhara Evercare Hospital at around 6:30 pm on Wednesday (September 18) and reached Gulshan residence Feroza around 7:30 pm. BNP Chairperson's press wing official Shamsuddin Didar informed this information.

Earlier this morning BNP chairperson's personal physician Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain told the media that Madam's medical board held a meeting yesterday (Tuesday) night and reviewed various reports on her physical condition. The board has decided that he can go home now. His treatment at home will be under the close observation of doctors.

Incidentally, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital on the night of September 12 due to a sudden fever. He was under treatment in the hospital cabin. Professor Dr. An expert medical board headed by Sahabuddin Talukdar has been treating Begum Zia for a long time. 79-year-old Khaleda Zia has been suffering from various complications including liver cirrhosis, heart disease, lung, kidney complications, arthritis, diabetes for a long time. Khaleda Zia, suffering from cirrhosis of the liver, underwent a blood vessel surgery on October 27 last year. Khaleda Zia's blood vessels were operated on by bringing three specialist doctors from the US.

In addition, Khaleda Zia's heart was implanted with a pacemaker at Evercare Hospital on June 25.

Since Khaleda Zia was diagnosed with liver cirrhosis in November 2021, doctors have been advising her to be sent abroad for treatment. On behalf of his family and party, the then Awami League government made repeated requests. But Sheikh Hasina's government has ignored it every time. On March 25, 2020, an executive order suspended Khaleda Zia's sentence and granted her conditional release. Since then, the suspension of his sentence was being extended every six months.

In such a situation, the day after the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government in the coup of the students, President Md. Khaleda Zia was released permanently on the orders of Sahabuddin. He got the good news from Evercare Hospital. Khaleda Zia returned home on August 21 after being under treatment in the hospital for one month and 12 days. Since then he was being treated at home. Efforts are also being made to take him abroad for better treatment. However, private doctors are saying that it is not possible to take him abroad as he is not in a condition to travel by plane.
