It is known that after 8:30 pm on Wednesday night, the passenger transport on the metro rail was normal. Earlier, metro rail services were suspended from Agargaon to Motijheel section after 9 am. But the route from Uttara to Agargaon was normal.
Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Mohammad Abdur Rauf informed this information.
He said, after completing the repair i.e. after making the metro rail fully ready for movement, after the temperature is under control, we have gone to the operation after the trial to start the movement. Now the movement has started.
Earlier, around 10:30 am, DMTCL workers started repairing the spring of the derailed viaduct.
The MD of DMTCL said, our pillar number 430 has 4 bearing pads in the middle of the head, which act like springs. It maintains flexibility, with a bearing pad displacement at one corner. The bearing pad is under the viaduct and above the pillar. It was going to give two to three inches. Without taking any risk, we have stopped metro rail movement from Agargaon to Motijheel section since morning. Now the repairs are completed and the Metrorail is fully prepared for operation.
