Farooq Wasif is the new Director General of PIB

Jumbangla Desk: Journalist and writer Farooq Wasif has been appointed as Director General (DG) of Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB). Farooq Wasif is currently serving as the Planning Editor of Dainik Samakal.

It is known from a notification signed by ATM Shariful Alam, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday (September 18).

According to the signed notification, "According to Section 9(2) of the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) Act, 2018, Farooq Wasif has been appointed to the Press Institute Bangladesh (PIB) for a period of two years from the date of his joining on the condition of severing his working relationship with other institutions and organizations." - has been appointed to the post of director general.

The notification informed that his new appointment will be effective from the date of joining.

It should be noted that after the fall of the Awami League government on August 5, Zafar Wazed resigned from the post of Director General of PIB on August 13. Later his appointment was canceled by the Ministry of Public Administration.
