Which can reduce the immunity of the human body, said the professor of the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science of Dhaka University. Sharmin Rumi Alim. He said these things at a seminar organized at the Bangladesh Safe Food Authority (BFSA) head office in Shahbagh of the capital on Wednesday (September 18).

Its level is so high that the immunity of the body will decrease. By taking medicine for one disease, other diseases will rise up. We have to make a transition from this situation.'

In the speech of the chief guest, BFSA Chairman Zakaria said, '70 percent of people die of non-communicable diseases in the country. And death due to diarrhea is at number 4. They depend on our diet. For this we need to increase the level of research. Our researchers are given a one-year time frame to conduct research. This time needs to be extended.'

Former director of BFSA. Sahdev Chandra Saha said, "Several years ago, heavy metals were found in 11 out of 13 companies' milk in the market. The case is still ongoing.

 

Again harmful lead was found in the turmeric of the reputed company. After sending it to America they informed. BFSA working on these has improved the situation. In street foods, various colors are used to make the food attractive. These foods are harmful to health. 10 studies are now being funded. Hopefully, it will make a big contribution in creating a safe food system in the country.'


Pathikrit Institute of Health Studies Chief Researcher Associate Professor Dr. Md. Hafizur Rahman said, 'There are more fast food or junk food shops around the educational institution. 25 percent of students eat fast food. Among them, private university students eat more such food. These oily foods have a different taste on the tongue. By that they are more attracted to these foods. I don't like other food then But it makes them fat. The physical structure is not being properly.'
