Awami League presidium member Kazi Zafar Ullah arrested

Jumbangla Desk: Awami League presidium member Kazi Zafar Ullah has been arrested by law and order security forces. He was arrested from Gulshan in the capital on Wednesday (September 18) night.
Kazi Zafar Ullah was elected Member of Parliament from the then Faridpur-5 Constituency on the nomination of Awami League in the 2001 National Parliament Elections. Later in 2014 and 2018, he lost to independent candidate Mojibur Rahman Chowdhury Nixon in Faridpur-4 seat with boat symbol. This presidium member of Awami League was defeated by Nixon in the last 2024 election.
Sheikh Hasina fled the country to India after resigning from the post of Prime Minister on 5th August in the student uprising. Since then several ministers, parliamentarians, advisors and top leaders of the Awami League government have been arrested. Among them are Law Minister Anisul Haque, former Prime Minister's Private Industry and Investment Advisor Salman F Rahman and Energy, Mineral Resources and Power Affairs Advisor Taufiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury, Public Administration Minister Farhad Hossain.
