Censor Board name changing: What will be the new name?

A few days ago the 'Bangladesh Film Censor Board' was reconstituted. However, most of the films concerned demanded the reform of the Censor Board. Film makers-producers even held a press conference asking for the reform and reorganization of this committee. At the same time, they demanded the Censor Certification Board. In that continuity, the name of the Censor Board is changing.
The Censor Board, which was created to prevent financial loss to film traders, will now be named 'Bangladesh Film Certification Board'.

Adviser Nahid Islam said this in the exchange meeting of Bangladesh Censor Board and Jury Board at the conference room of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Wednesday (September 18).

He said, we have invited anti-censorship people to the Censor Board committee. Laws and regulations will be reviewed. There was a gazette about the censor board. But he had no rules. In this case, the Act of 2023 will be implemented by notification as soon as possible, excluding the word censor.

The information advisor said that many movies are yet to be released in the cinema world. Therefore, to facilitate the release of the movie, the legislation will be worked out as soon as possible, which will not conflict with the notification.

He also said that while making this law, the overall proposal will be reviewed and discussed with the stakeholders. The certification board will be created by the 2023 Act.
