"Film Certification Board" by omitting the word "Censor"

Jumbangla Desk: Information advisor Nahid Islam said that a censor board was created for the emergency period so that the movie traders do not suffer financial loss. It will be named 'Bangladesh Film Certification Board'.

He said this at the exchange meeting of Bangladesh Censor Board and Jury Board at the Ministry of Information on Wednesday (September 18).

Adviser Nahid Islam said, we have invited anti-censorship people to the Censor Board committee.

He said, the law and rules will be reviewed. There was a gazette about the Censor Board. But he had no rules. In this case, the Act of 2023 will be implemented by notification as soon as possible, excluding the word censor.

Adviser Nahid Islam said, many movies are yet to be released in the world of cinema. Therefore, legislation will be worked out at the earliest to facilitate movie release, which will not conflict with the notification.

He also said, while making this law, after discussion and review with the participants, the overall proposal will be worked afresh. The certification board will be created by the 2023 Act.

Members of Bangladesh Censor Board and Jury Board were present in the meeting.
