Health Bangladesh Forum to bring changes in the health sector

Jumbangla Desk: It has become very important to prioritize the long-standing challenges of the health sector in Bangladesh. Bangladesh Forum for Health was formed with the aim of reforming the health system, inspired by the motto of the anti-discrimination movement of the students. On Wednesday (September 18) afternoon at Dhaka Reporters Unity, the forum made its debut in an event titled "Bangladesh Health Reform Ideas".

Other members of the forum are Dr. Sakhawat Hossain Sayanth, Dr. Md. Abdus Shakur Khan, Dr. Sharful Islam Khan (Bobby), Dr. MA Razzak, Dr. Zahirul Islam, Dr. Syed Md. Bakibilla Tutul, Dr. Shahin Akhter, Dr. M. Monir Hossain, Dr. Golam Mohiuddin Khan Sadi, Dr. SM Khalid Mahmud Sakil, Dr. Abdul Alim, Dr. Zia Haider, Dr. Tawfiq Joarder, Dr. Ahmad Ehsanur Rahman.


The forum is working to build a long-term, sustainable, inclusive health care system by harnessing the power of citizen engagement and accountability, the forum said. The committee is committed to discussing and providing rational solutions to the challenges of Bangladesh's health system, such as lack of quality services, disparity between rural and urban areas, inadequate management of the private health sector, increasing burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs), and lack of adequate financing in the health sector. Based on the principles of equity, accountability and inclusion, the committee is working towards implementing integrated solutions.


Objective of the Forum: To convey rational opinions to state managers to establish an equitable, inclusive and accountable health care system.

Objectives of the Forum: 1. Joint statement through discussion on public health issues. 2. Propose correct and acceptable solutions to resolve political debates on health. 3. With the aim of establishing a non-discriminatory health care system, to make people aware of different fields of work. 4. On behalf of ordinary citizens, conveying their various opinions on various health issues to state managers.
